About Wild Tongues

Bringing 20+ years of teaching, writing and performing, and inspired by the work of authors like Gloria Anzaldua, the queer Chicana writer who called for authentic expression, hybrid tongues and identities, I founded WILD TONGUES Writing Coaching & Consulting to help you boldly express your authentic voice -- to boldly tell your authentic stories.

I want to help you find, fall in love with and express your voice. I will do this by:

  • helping you spark flow, inspiration and consistency in your writing and creative practice

  • helping you express clearly and powerfully to your audiences through prompts, exercises, & instruction

  • offering my expert feedback on your writing and / or performance work

  • offering personalized advice, tools, readings and inspiring dialogue with you to move to the next level

What can you expect? Move from...

  • being stuck to...being in your creative flow

  • feeling isolated or unseen to...feeling more visible and connected through your creative expression

  • feeling unstructured to...feeling accountable

My Approach and Experience:
Spanning a variety of writing styles and modalities, my offerings are for beginning, intermediate and advanced-level writers; writing for perfor
mance, poetry, prose, essays, speeches and hybrid genres; creative writing as well as practical projects such as cover letters, resumes, mission statements and bios, job and academic applications. I also work with those who don't see themselves as writers in discovering the joys and benefits of a creative practice. I have a passion for supporting working mothers, BIPOC folks, immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks, movers and multi-genre artists, but love working with people from all walks of life. I bring 20+ years of writing/performing/speaking and teaching creative writing, spoken word, grammar/composition, literature and other subjects from the community to the university levels, and a knowledge that my gift and life's work are in language.

-- I can't wait to meet you! -  Aimee Suzara

“I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised and misunderstood.” – Audre Lorde
